How FoodFolio collects, uses and protects your information.
Last updated: August 2026FoodFolio requires an account to sync your data across sessions. We collect the profile, meal and activity information you enter or capture in the app so we can generate your nutrition plan and track your progress. We don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
Account information — name and email address when you create an account, either directly or through your sign-in provider.
Profile & health details — gender, height, weight, date of birth, fitness goal, activity level and dietary preference, used to calculate your personalized calorie and macro targets.
Meal & exercise logs — food entries, meal photos you choose to scan, barcode scans, and exercise entries you log, along with the nutrition data generated for them.
Profile photo — if you choose to upload one, it is stored securely and linked to your account.
When you scan a meal, the photo is analyzed by an AI food-recognition service to identify the food and estimate its nutritional content. Nutrition data is also cross-checked against public food databases to improve accuracy.
Photos you attach to a saved food entry are stored so the entry can display an image later. You can remove a food entry, and its photo, at any time from within the app.
Camera — to scan meal photos and barcodes. The camera is only active while you're using the scanner.
Photo library — to let you pick an existing photo for food scanning or set a profile picture.
Internet — required to sync your data, run food recognition, and fetch nutrition and recipe information.
You can revoke any permission at any time from your device Settings; doing so may limit the related feature.
We use your information to calculate your personalized calorie and macro targets, track your progress over time, suggest recipes that fit your goals, and keep your account synced across devices.
If you use a referral code, we associate it with your account solely to apply referral rewards.
FoodFolio uses trusted third-party infrastructure to operate: a cloud database and authentication provider to store and sync your account and logs, an AI service to analyze meal photos and generate recipe suggestions, and public nutrition databases to enrich food data. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the app's features.
FoodFolio does not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active, so your history and progress stay available to you. You can edit or delete individual food and exercise entries at any time from within the app.

FoodFolio is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are published means you accept the updated policy.
